鋁型材以其比重小、易加工，機(jī)械強(qiáng)度大等特征多年來廣泛運(yùn)用于修建物的門窗、幕墻等商品上。鋁是具有銀白色光澤的比照生動(dòng)的輕金屬，其耐蝕性具有以下兩個(gè)特征：

純度越高，耐蝕性越好，首要是因?yàn)榧冧X在空氣傍邊與氧發(fā)作作用，在鋁表面出產(chǎn)一層很薄的細(xì)密天然氧化膜，比其它金屬氧化膜生成的快并且厚的多，進(jìn)而阻遏了空氣中有害氣體和水分的進(jìn)一步腐蝕，起到了保護(hù)作用。
The higher the purity, the better the corrosion resistance, mainly because pure aluminum reacts with oxygen in the air, and produces a thin fine and dense natural oxide film on the aluminum surface, which is much faster and thicker than other metal oxide films, thus inhibiting the further corrosion of harmful gases and moisture in the air and playing a protective role.

鋁型材的機(jī)械強(qiáng)度高，但耐蝕性低。純鋁的耐蝕性雖好，但機(jī)械強(qiáng)度差，這在一定程度上制約了鋁的運(yùn)用，為此，我們在鋁中參與適當(dāng)?shù)逆V、銅、鋅等其他金屬，制成各種類型的鋁合金，使鋁的機(jī)械強(qiáng)度大大提高，運(yùn)用范圍大大擴(kuò)展，但耐蝕性比純鋁差，因而就有可以因氧化而受腐蝕。這就需要進(jìn)行粉末涂裝對(duì)鋁合金型材加以保護(hù)。
